Codes of ethics

Publis Editorial promotes high ethical standards in publishing academic and scientific books. This policy establishes the principles all authors, reviewers, and editors must follow to ensure academic integrity and transparency in the editorial process.

1. Responsibility of authors

  • Authors must ensure that their work is original and has not been previously published or is under review by another publisher. Any use of previously published information must be appropriately cited.
  • Authors are responsible for the content of their work and must declare any conflicts of interest that could influence the research or publication.
  • The manipulation of data, images, or graphics is prohibited. If artificial intelligence is used for writing or data analysis, it must be explicitly declared in the manuscript, following principles of transparency and academic ethics.

2. Peer review

  • Reviewers must provide an objective and impartial evaluation of assigned manuscripts. Any conflicts of interest must be disclosed to the publisher.
  • Confidentiality is expected throughout the review process, and no data or results should be disclosed before official publication.

3. Publication standards

  • Publis Editorial follows international ethical guidelines for academic publishing, including those established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and the International Council for Science (ICSU). Additionally, it adheres to the principles of transparency and best practices defined by the Directory of Open Access Books (DOAB), the Open Access Scholarly Publishing Association (OASPA), and the Singapore Statement on Research Integrity.
  • Plagiarism, self-plagiarism, and data falsification will not be tolerated.
  • The use of artificial intelligence to create visual content or manipulate images is strictly prohibited unless it is part of the methodology described in the work.

4. Responsibility of editors

  • Editors must ensure the integrity of the review and publication process, acting with impartiality and fairness.
  • They are responsible for resolving any ethical disputes or issues that arise during the evaluation or publication of books.
  • Editors are committed to applying the best editorial practices and ensuring compliance with academic ethics principles at all stages of the editorial process.
